The Canadian CHallenge Sled Dog race has been recognized as one of Canada's best top events!

After long and intensive deliberation and with the help of a survey we did over social media, email, phone and in person, the Gateway North Sled Dog Race board members have come to an agreement that we keep the race format as is. We keep the 12 dog 320 mile race from Prince Albert to La Ronge including the northern loop via Grandmother`s Bay and Stanley Mission, a 8 dog 200 mile race from Prince Albert to La Ronge and an Open and Junior race from Prince Albert to Elk Ridge.

We would also like to thank each and every one of you who participated at the PAEX fundraising campaign. Thanks to you we were able to raise well over 10.000$ and will help us in reaching our goal to match our budget or even do better than last year. A special thanks go to Al Sheremata, our Vice President, in taking the lead for organizing this great event.,/p>

The board is also working hard on finding alternatives in cutting costs down by revising our events prior to the race. We are exploring the possibility of making the musher banquet at the start of the race into a ``Meet and Greet`` event for all mushers, volunteers, spectators and Media. This will help shortening the event as well as a closer bound between all groups of people to socialize about this great sport.

Furthermore the board has been also looking into searching new ways in helping raising funds for this great event so we can build up our race towards our 20th anniversary in 2 years.

We all hope you all are having a great summer. Fall training is coming closer and closer and will be the start of hopefully yet another great mushing season for all of us.

We will update our website accordingly in the next few days so stay tuned!

Sincerely,

The Gateway North SDRA board
